The morning of March 29, 2023, was bright and full of promise as the city of Nairobi gathered to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of Stima Heights, a landmark project poised to redefine affordable housing in the region. They were joined by the Board of Directors of Stima Investments, members of the society, management and staff of Stima Investment, members of the public, and other stakeholders including consultants and developers of the project.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the master of ceremonies, who invited the CS of the Cooperatives Ministry to the podium. Taking the stage with a confident smile, the CS addressed the gathering:
The CS's words were met with enthusiastic applause, setting a positive tone for the event. Next, the Deputy Governor of Nairobi County took the stage, his presence resonating with the crowd. Known for his advocacy for urban development, the Deputy Governor spoke passionately.
His speech was greeted with resounding approval, reflecting the community's excitement and support for the project. Following the Deputy Governor, various county officials and members of the Stima Investments Board delivered their remarks, each echoing the sentiments of unity and progress.
The highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic groundbreaking. The master of ceremony invited the CS Ministry Co-operative(Simon Chelugui), the Deputy Governor (James Muchiri), The Chairman (Joseph Nganga) and the Board of Directors, and other dignitaries to break the ground.
As the dignitaries plunged the excavator into the earth, the audience erupted in cheers and applause.
After the groundbreaking, guests mingled over refreshments, discussing the significance of Stima Heights and the positive impact it would have on the community. The atmosphere was one of optimism and anticipation, a reflection of the project's promise.
